About the station
WKHR broadcasts online (United States). The broadcast language is English. Its format and main topics include big-band music and oldies.
Big-band radio
Big-band music brings together brass, reed instruments and a rhythm section in a large ensemble. Arranged passages, exchanges between sections and space for soloists give it a different scale from small-group jazz. For listeners drawn to an orchestral jazz sound, the appeal lies as much in the ensemble arrangements as in individual performances.
Oldies radio
Oldies radio draws on recognisable music from earlier decades, with the exact years and styles varying between stations.
