A varied music selection

A variety format leaves room for different styles instead of promising a single-genre selection. Its appeal is the opportunity to move between contrasting sounds within one station. The label does not specify which artists or release periods will be played, so a short listen is more informative than assuming a fixed musical mood.

Jazz radio

Jazz radio can move from swing and bebop to vocal jazz, fusion, and contemporary recordings, with the balance varying between stations and programmes.
