CKEZ "Z97.9" New Glasgow, NS live online

Classic Hits radio

Classic hits centres on familiar songs from earlier release periods and can cross the boundaries of pop, rock, soul and dance. Unlike a single-decade format, the label alone does not define a precise range of years. It points toward a recognisable back catalogue rather than a selection built exclusively around current chart releases.

Classic Rock radio

Classic rock looks back to established guitar-led recordings rather than concentrating on new releases. Album tracks, riffs and band performances are central reference points, although stations differ in which decades they cover. The label is useful when choosing a rock-oriented alternative to a broader oldies or classic-hits selection.
