About the station

CBC Radio 1 Calgary (CBR - 1010 AM, 99.1 FM) broadcasts online (Alberta, Canada). The broadcast language is English. Its format and main topics include blues, classical music, folk, jazz, news, and talk programmes.

News and discussion

News and talk are complementary spoken-radio formats: reports concentrate on developments, while interviews and discussions leave more room for context and different viewpoints. A short bulletin suits a quick catch-up; a longer conversation offers time to explore the background and arguments. This combination is a useful starting point for listeners interested in current affairs rather than a music-led stream.

Blues radio

Blues radio may move from acoustic traditions and electric blues to soul-blues and contemporary recordings.
